Bike Bus
A bike bus is an adult-led group bike ride to school to encourage both parents and kids to ride instead of drive. We are piloting the idea at Chatworth on Fridays starting Friday, September 15th. This is a pilot project so please let share any feedback with us positive or negative so we can make it an enduring Chatsworth tradition. We hope to expand to other areas if Route 1 is successful, please reach out if you have suggestions for future routes!
Anyone can join the bike bus, including adults! If your kids cannot ride yet, strap them into a bike seat and join the fun, you’ll see how much quicker drop-off is!
Rules:
Any student below 4th grade must be accompanied by a parent
All students and parents must wear helmets and obey traffic laws

Central Route 1 - Orienta
The bus will leave from the top of the Orienta Avenue Bike Path (between Cove Road and Greacen Lane) at 8:10. We should arrive at Central at 8:30.
Join the bike bus at any point along the route, you should hear us coming!
We will send out the exact timing and any updates to the email list the Wednesday before each Friday’s bus.

Chat Route 2 - Pine Brook
We are looking to start a 2nd bike bus route from the Pine Brook neighborhood. We have a preliminary route in mind but will adapt the route to pass by as many interested households as possible.

Chat Route 1 - Pryer Manor and Larchmont Manor
The bus will leave from Dillon and Gaillard at 8:15, with the goal of being at the foot of Larchmont Ave (by Manor Park) at 8:25. If we arrive at Larchmont Ave before 8:25 we’ll wait, if we arrive after we’ll keep going. We should arrive at Chatsworth at 8:40.
Join the bike bus at any point along the route, you should hear us coming!
We will return along the same route, leaving from the basketball court on Larchmont Avenue at 3PM.
We will send out the exact timing and any updates to the email list the Wednesday before each Friday’s bus.
